Where I’m planted

Open Mic night tonight – the last qualifiying round for “Seekers Idol”. I have decided that the entire competition is rigged.

The people who bring a gaggle of friends end up making the top three – regardless of talent! There were two acts that made second and third that made me slightly annoyed. Mostly because their delivery wasn’t nearly as impressive at a girl who had gone on later in the night. She sang three original songs in a bluesy-soulful style that literally brought me to tears at one point. She came alone and left right after her set. Therefore, she didn’t have 15 friends that she had brought out to vote for her. Hence my dismay at the acts who did.

In spite of the “injustice”, I had a great night. Another time spent with awesome friends. It makes me so glad to be where I am right now. All these small moments where I know that if I make the choice to leave now, God will not be able to fully bless me where I am.
