As many of my girls know, it is next to impossible to find a perfect flat shoe that goes with a million things, is comfortable and will stay in style for a while. Those girls who are on a budget, like myself, will thank their lucky stars when they find a comfy shoe that they can afford. Sometimes you gotta splurge to find something that won’t make you wince all day.
That is why it took me months to find a black flat that I knew would go with everything. I found some Steve Madden’s at DSW but I knew I didn’t want to spend that much unless I knew I’d wear it all the time. Therefore, I give you…the elusive perfect flat.
Oh man. So, I was sorta not busy for a week there. That was interesting. So every time someone asked me to do something I thought, “no problem.” Then, this week came and everything I had said yes to has fallen in the same four days. Here’s what I’ve decided.
And now, a short list of thoughts on last week’s LOST. Episode 4.04, Eggtown.

If you’re having a bad day…watch this.
My family always throws a party for the Academy Awards, with a few family friends and lots of good food. My parents make a point to see as many of the Nominated movies as possible and I usually see the ones that interest me. This past weekend we rented “Eastern Promises” (which I’m going to watch tomorrow) and “Once“.
Once was nominated for Best Song. My Dad had heard a guy on public radio say that this was the best movie he had seen all year. He talked about how amazing the music was and that nobody has seen it but everyone should.
The great thing about being a John Mayer fan is that he’s not only a great musician but he’s also an interesting person. He’s silly, sure (see: Borat thong) but he’s also quite brilliant. Perhaps that’s why his silly moments are so extreme. Regardless, sometimes I’m just grateful to be a fan of someone who is interesting in the discussion of many things. All of that to say that his blogs on a Japanese site, Honeyee.com, tend to be about things he’s interested in.
His current blog is about John Cage, an experimental musician, most active in the 50’s and 60’s. He was a pioneer in “chance music, electronic music and non-standard use of musical instruments” (According to Wikipedia).
His most controversial composition is entitled 4′33″. The entire piece is silent.
I got to attend a Crop night with some of my friends this evening. I’ll tell you, I had sortof forgotten what it was like to have all of us in one room, covered in adhesive and creating simultaneously. It was good to experience it again. I’m hoping we’ll do it more often.
Also, Tomato Basil Wheat Thins might be the greatest thing ever.
I was listening to the official LOST podcast for last weeks episode. They answer questions from fans and the answers are sometimes helpful if you’re a nerd who likes to figure out this show…like me!
