Nausea and flashbacks

First of all, I should say that today was a FANTASTIC birthday. Everyone who should have remembered did remember and I got to spend all afternoon celebrating with my family.

This morning’s open house was a modest success and I’m hoping that tonight went even better. It was nice to sit in a quiet room and crank out a couple of creative things before the day was even in full swing.

This afternoon we had lunch then did a little bit of shopping. Old Navy had this beautiful end-cap full of pashminas and I had a lot of trouble choosing just one. I settled on a striped one that will go well with just about everything. I can’t find it on their website but here is a similar one.

We got a shipment a few months ago of an entire truck-full of glossy white cardstock paper. After the shock wore off, we were left with all eleven boxes. It sat in boxes for a while as backstock but never moved. Once we found out we were closing, the cardstock came out of the boxes and all over the store. Not one pack or piece went anywhere. Finally, a few weeks ago corporate gave the O.K. to give out packs of 25 sheets for free with a $50 purchase. We still had stacks and stacks. We moved the prices down and down and today…an email went out to our customers that said we had “select paper for .01 a piece!!!” They were talking about that damned glossy cardstock.

Mr. Fleming, I owe you one.

Well, I made it through my first day back at work. I even managed not to imitate a zombie while doing it! I am hoping that this means I’m fully on the way to recovery. Thank you, penicillin.

Good news on the job front – I got a really good offer that includes the kind of pay AND hours I wanted. I’ve got to get a few more ducks in a row and then I’ll be on my way! I’m excited about all the new things in the future.

Tomorrow, I’m hoping to make it through just as I did today. Only one more day until I turn the big 2-6 AND LOST makes it’s big Season 4 comeback. Things are looking up!

Sinuses still raging

Back to work after days and days…eons of time in bed, coughing. Ok, really it’s been seven days. Feels like eons, though. I’m still pausing to hack up a lung in a very unlady-like manor when people try to carry on conversation with me. At least I can hold my head up. That wasn’t possible two days ago.

New Blog

I’ve gotten out of the habit of sending out mass “update” emails on the life and times of this here Bee, so to remedy that problem, I’m starting up this blog site.
